poem: alone

death-lit faces
skeleton masks
ravaged by hate
ravaged by war
happiness is a feeling still so unknown
want nothing
have nothing
have nothing but pain

guns and death
are in their everyday lives
short-lived everyday lives without hope or future
hope is a feeling still so unknown
only love of wars
only love of greed

a peace is wanted by those who suffer most
few are aware of the illusion
the suffering
a mother has only nine months of peace
to offer her child
peace is a feeling still so unknown
to those who want it most
children are dying everyday
alone in a wartorn hell

does anyone care for those most hurt
it’s so unfair to live as we do
as children go unnoticed
praying for a peace
that will soon take them
an eternal peace of mind.
