poem: cut in

Fill me up because
I drain you so thin
I’m the grrl you thought you wanted
All of this time
Perfect with her lipstick blotted
And the innocent kill-you grin

Sense me still
Your eyes scan what’s left
They stare down on me and
Stare me down
They won’t stare at me at all
How do you feel?

Wake up because
I’m a mere mortal sin
How beautiful are gleaming tears
Drink them in through hidden fears
and the artificial skin
Just wake up

Watch me because
My eyes were cut from within
A red-faced little temptress
Never knew what I always missed
So changed I don’t remember when

…I cared for me
